The popular streaming service Netflix now boasts approximately 302 million subscribers. Recently, the company announced plans to raise subscription prices in several countries: the United States, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina.
Here's how the prices will change, according to media reports:
- Basic plan — $7.99 (previously $6.99);
- Standard plan — $17.99 (previously $15.49);
- Premium — $24.99 (previously $22.99).
A recent report indicates that 41 million users subscribed last year, with 19 million joining in the fourth quarter. The plans to change prices were noted in a letter to shareholders.
The exact timing of the price changes has not been specified. Additionally, a new subscription plan is expected to be introduced, allowing subscribers to invite other users (beyond those already in the family) for an additional fee.
