Windows 11 is Preparing to Simplify File Sharing With a New Panel
Microsoft continues to improve Windows 11 by adding new features and enhancements. In the latest Beta Channel build 22635.4805, a hidden file-sharing feature was discovered. Users can now quickly send documents and images using a pop-up panel.
To use the feature, simply click and drag a file to the top of the screen. The appearing panel offers options for sending via Outlook, transferring to a smartphone using Phone Link, and sharing through other apps via the standard "Share" menu.
In addition to the file-sharing panel, build 22635.4805 includes:
- Updated Snap Panel: Users receive tips when accidentally invoking the window snapping feature, making it easier to learn how to use it.
- Gamepad Keyboard: Xbox controller owners can now use it for typing. The new layout supports X for backspace and Y for spacebar.
- Narrator Improvements: New commands have been added for quickly navigating lists and elements on pages, making navigation more convenient.
- PC Game Pass Referral Card in Settings: Subscribers can now invite friends to try the subscription for free.
However, the build isn’t without its flaws. There are issues affecting the stability of File Explorer, the Start menu, and certain settings. Microsoft is already working on fixing these problems. The new features are still being tested and are not yet available in the stable version. The final release is expected in a future Windows 11 update.
