Rumor: Leaked Images and Details from a New Game by the Creators of God of War

Rumored details about the next game from Santa Monica Studio (of the God of War series) have surfaced online. The source was an anonymous user on 4chan—a not entirely reliable resource, though it has sometimes delivered genuine leaks. In any case, it's best to take all this information as mere rumor for now.

The game is said to take place in the future, where science coexists with fantasy and magic is controlled by a technological device reminiscent of a nuclear reactor. It will present a futuristic version of the Middle Ages, with a “dark society of wizards” playing a key role in summoning a “space demon.”

The main protagonist is rumored to be a white woman, accompanied by a character portrayed by Debra Wilson. The post's author shared two pieces of artwork featuring Wilson's character, though there’s a chance these images were generated by AI.

So far, the only confirmed detail is that the unannounced game is being developed by Cory Barlog, the game designer behind God of War (2018). A few years ago, Barlog handed over production of the sequel to another team and shifted his focus to a project in a new universe.
