Nintendo Switch Sales Exceed 150 Million Units — Now the Third Best-Selling Console in History

Nintendo has updated its sales figures for the Switch console. In the latest quarter, the company sold 4.82 million units, bringing the total number of units sold to 150.86 million.
As a result, the Nintendo Switch is now just about 10 million units away from becoming the best-selling console of all time. Currently in third place, it trails behind the Nintendo DS (154.02 million) and the PlayStation 2 (over 160 million).
The management also released updated sales figures for its top ten best-selling games, with a combined total of 1.359 billion copies sold across all titles:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe — 67.35 million;
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons — 47.44 million;
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate — 35.88 million;
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — 32.62 million;
- Super Mario Odyssey — 29.04 million;
- Pokémon Sword / Pokémon Shield — 26.60 million;
- Pokémon Scarlet / Pokémon Violet — 26.38 million;
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — 21.55 million;
- Super Mario Party — 21.10 million;
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe — 18.06 million.
Official sales of the Nintendo Switch 2 are set to begin this year, likely in spring or summer. More details will be revealed on April 2.
