Infinix Unveils a 40-Inch QLED TV Priced Cheaper Than a Smartphone

Known for its affordable smartphones, Infinix is now making a surprising leap into home entertainment. The Infinix Y1V QLED TV is among the most budget-friendly quantum dot TVs available today. Its standout feature is a 40-inch Full HD (1920×1080) panel built using QLED technology. Despite its low price, the screen delivers vivid colors (covering 94% of the NTSC gamut) and a peak brightness of up to 300 nits—features rarely seen at this price point. The frameless design and 60 Hz refresh rate further enhance its appeal for movie enthusiasts and gamers alike.

Diverging from most smart TVs, Infinix has chosen a Linux operating system for this model, preloaded with a suite of apps including YouTube, Prime Video, and local streaming services. This approach helps reduce costs while still enabling wireless content streaming via Miracast. At the core of the device is an energy-efficient quad-core processor with a Mali-G31 GPU, which ensures smooth interface performance despite the modest 512 MB of RAM, and it comes with 4 GB of internal storage.

The audio system, equipped with two 16-watt speakers, supports basic Dolby Audio and is partially optimized for Atmos. The manufacturer also addressed the needs of users with older equipment by including an AV input and an optical audio output. Special attention has been given to viewer safety, with blue light filtering technology that reduces eye strain during extended viewing sessions. Sales will begin in India on March 1, 2025, at a price of $160 (approximately 14,000 rubles), with plans to expand to other regions if the launch is successful.
