Counter-Strike 1.6 Remake Announced with Modern Graphics
March 17, 2025, 10:19 AM

A full-fledged fan remake of Counter-Strike 1.6 has been announced online under the title CS: Legacy. The developers have released a debut trailer showcasing the updated versions of the Nuke and Pool maps.
The remake is being built on the official Source engine. While the graphics have been significantly modernized, many classic elements—such as gunshot sounds and ragdoll animations—remain true to the original 2000 version.
It remains unclear how Valve will respond to the remake’s release on its platform. The company previously rejected a similar project, the Classic Offensive mod.
CS: Legacy is set to launch in 2025, initially in early access.
