New Trailer for Cyberpunk Open-World RPG Beta Decay Showcases Retro Aesthetics and Player Freedom

A fresh trailer for Beta Decay, an old-school cyberpunk RPG-simulator developed by a solo creator, has just been released. According to the developer, the game is set to launch in early access later this year.
The footage features combat sequences involving both human enemies and alien insects. Beta Decay takes place in a massive metropolis beyond the Solar System, torn apart by internal conflicts. Politicians, megacorporations, and crime syndicates wage brutal turf wars, and the protagonist can choose to take part in the chaos.
One of the game’s standout features is its retro-inspired, PS1-style graphics, giving it a uniquely aged aesthetic. The developer has also focused on an in-depth combat system and immersive simulation mechanics, including hunger and sleep management. The trailer further confirms the presence of an open world.
According to the roadmap, Beta Decay is scheduled for release in July. The game is available to wishlist on Steam.
