Digital Foundry experts analyze PS5 Pro's technical capabilities in Alan Wake 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and other Games

Technical experts at Digital Foundry have meticulously analyzed the announcement video of the PS5 Pro and made preliminary conclusions regarding the console's graphical capabilities using certain games as examples.
Here's what they reported:
- The Last of Us: Part 2 — 1440p resolution at 60 FPS (similar to the performance mode on PS5) with enhanced image quality thanks to PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) technology.
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart — resolution ranges from 1440p to 1800p at 60 FPS with the same settings as the performance mode on PS5, but with improved image quality due to PSSR.
- Alan Wake 2 — two modes were shown (864p at 60 FPS and 1260p at 30 FPS). This matches the base modes on PS5, but instead of FSR technology, image quality improvement is achieved through PSSR. The 30 FPS demo clip may include ray tracing.
- Horizon Forbidden West — higher detail than on PS5. It's likely that the shown footage did not use PSSR technology, and the resolution probably did not reach full 4K.
- Hogwarts Legacy — improved ray tracing compared to the base PS5 version. The game ran at 30 FPS in the clip, but there will likely be a separate 60 FPS mode similar to PS5.
- Gran Turismo 7 — in some moments, the resolution dropped to 1188p, and 4K is achieved through PSSR. Ray tracing reflections look better than in Forza Motorsport.
- Dragon's Dogma 2 — likely runs at 60 FPS and probably uses PSSR.
- Assassin's Creed Shadows — in the demonstrated footage, the resolution appeared to be 864p at 60 FPS.
It's important to note that this is only a preliminary analysis, so some conclusions may be incorrect.
