Bloomberg: The creators of the Dead Space remake wanted to release a new entry in the series
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier intervened in the recent spat between Jeff Grubb and Electronic Arts. Yesterday the insider reported the cancellation of the Dead Space 2 remake due to poor sales of the previous installment, and EA immediately responded that the game was not even in development.
According to Schreier, the truth indeed lies with Electronic Arts. According to the journalist's sources, the company shelved the series back in the spring of 2023, when the Dead Space remake showed poor sales.
At the same time, Schreier noted that the developers did indeed have plans for the series. After releasing Dead Space, the studio spent several months contemplating the concept of a full-fledged new installment. Unfortunately, these efforts never came to fruition.
Reminder: Motive Studio is currently working on two projects: a game about Iron Man and a new installment of Battlefield.
