Fan Shows What S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Looks Like in 8K with Ray Tracing
Fans continue to work not only on the technical state of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, but also on the graphics. The author of the YouTube channel Beyond Dreams demonstrated the gameplay of the shooter with a ray tracing mod and other improvements.
This picture was achieved with the help of the Complete RT 1.5 add-on, which improves global illumination, color rendition, shadows and graphics detail. In addition, the YouTuber used DLSS 3 Quality technology to run the game in 8K resolution without losing image quality, and the ReSTIR G.I. ray tracing algorithm instead of the Lumen technology developed for Unreal Engine 5. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 video card was used to run the build.
So far, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is experiencing major problems related to both graphics and gameplay. The developers have already promised to release the first patch in the near future, which will fix a number of serious shortcomings such as the non-working A-Life system, the lack of facial animations and game crashes.
A mod has recently appeared that fixes the problem with shader compilation. It significantly speeds up loading in the game.
