What might be shown at the Xbox presentation: a new Gears of War, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, and Call of Duty in Game Pass

Windows Central editor Jez Corden published a lengthy article dedicated to the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, which will take place on June 9. Here's what to expect from it.

  • Contraband, a new game from the creators of Just Cause, has faced some difficulties amid the pandemic and the departure of key developers;
  • Perfect Dark might be shown at the event. According to Corden, the studio's structure has shifted from flat to more traditional, and since then, development has been progressing well;
  • Another game likely to be showcased is State of Decay 3. The journalist heard that the game looks much better than previous installments, with a strong emphasis on the narrative aspect;
  • More obvious titles: Xbox will likely show something about Avowed, Flight Simulator 2024, and its service games;
  • The Coalition has been diligently helping other studios master Unreal Engine 5 — the fruits of their labor can be seen in the recent Hellblade 2. This summer, the studio might finally announce Gears of War 6;
  • Bethesda will likely show the Starfield: Shattered Space expansion, and Blizzard will showcase Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred;
  • Microsoft has also signed marketing contracts to showcase third-party games. The editor hinted that one of them will be Dragon Age: Dreadwolf;
  • According to the editor, the next Doom installment might be released on PS5;
  • Corden heard about some nostalgic announcements that will surely please fans of classic RPGs from the Xbox 360 era;
  • Following the show, there will be a separate presentation dedicated to Call of Duty. During this, they will also announce the release of the next game in Game Pass.
