Breathedge is a sci-fi adventure action game with a first-person view and survival elements. The game tells the story of an ordinary guy and his pet who crash in open space and now must survive. In a sea of floating debris and corpses, you will create your own space home and start a new life with a chicken that the protagonist's late grandfather loved so much. The game features a detailed crafting system, the ability to create your own dwelling, and even drive a space car.

Breathedge is a single-player survival game in open space with a first-person view that was released in Steam Early Access on September 13, 2018. The full version of the game is expected to be released in a year. Players are invited to step into the role of an ordinary engineer who survived a spaceship crash.

To survive, you will need to explore space, find and gather resources, craft items from them, solve puzzles, and listen to ironic remarks that turn into dark humor. Breathedge is developed on the Unreal Engine 4, ensuring a high level of graphics.

The events of Breathedge take place in the year 2073. The spaceship on which the protagonist is traveling crashes in the depths of space, hundreds of light years away from inhabited systems. The sole survivor envies the dead – he has to ensure his existence by exploring all sections of the wrecked ship, collecting corpses, and rummaging through debris.

Breathedge offers a large open world to explore, containing not only a huge spaceship but also several asteroids available for resource extraction.

The details of Breathedge's plot are still unknown. The backstory is as follows: the hero was transporting his grandfather's body to a funeral when an explosion occurred on the ship. Now he needs to find the coffin with his grandfather and deliver it to a space funeral in another system – this task will be central to the plot.

As for secondary storylines, the script features a certain princess who will need to be rescued. You will also have to find out the cause of the ship's crash and even uncover an interplanetary conspiracy.

The main character is called The Man – a typical commoner who finds himself in an unusual and very life-threatening situation. But not everything is so bad – thanks to the built-in artificial intelligence in his spacesuit, The Man can survive.

This quirky companion not only spices up all situations with sparkling humor but also gives useful advice – where to go, what and where to gather, suggests the necessary tools, and explains what is worth building or creating.

There's also a chicken – the protagonist's handy helper, which can be used to plug an air leak or pass a retina scanner.

The gameplay of Breathedge is standard for survival games: gather or extract resources and consumables, as well as recipes, craft items from them, and gain the ability to extract even more resources. Ultimately, the player must develop the character to the maximum.

По традиции жанра, за протагонистом нужно заботиться – кормить и поить его, иметь достаточный запас кислорода, а также оберегать от опасностей, вроде огня, радиации или обморожения, которые наносят урон здоровью.

У каждого предмета есть запас прочности, исчерпав который придется восстанавливать объект или создать новый. Некоторые вещи, вроде скафандра, можно улучшить, добавляя кислородные баки или защиту. Система крафта похожа на другие игры жанра, выделяется разве что постоянно применение синей изоленты, так знакомой отечественному игроку.

Все предметы игрок хранит в своем объемном рюкзаке, но может перегрузить лишнее в склад на базе. Путешествуя по миру, следует правильно расставлять станции с кислородом и рассчитывать свои действия наперед, в том числе и время, иначе можно быстро и мучительно умереть.

В будущем разработчики добавят новые игровые возможности, ресурсы и предметы.
