Painkiller game series
Painkiller is a shooter series starring Daniel Garner. Having died in the real world, he finds himself in a world between Heaven and Hell, namely Purgatory, which he needs to “cleanse” in order to achieve redemption and get to Heaven.
Painkiller does not have a deep plot: the main character uses many different weapons to destroy hordes of monsters and bosses. The levels, as in other similar shooters, have secrets, and game locations often change their appearance.
