The player can play through a series of independent scenarios or quick skirmishes, with the bulk of the missions consisting of alternate rather than historically accurate missions (though these are still available), in which the player may even get the opportunity to command the Russian fleet. The game has a scenario editor that allows the player to use up to 50 ships on each side.
