A dedicated build of UE4SS adapted to run modifications in Phantom Blade Zero. The official version of UE4SS does not start mods in this game without prior configuration. This archive contains the official UE4SS version 3.0.1 with a ready configuration of five files, allowing you to run Lua, C++, and Blueprint mods.
Tested on the Steam build 26266538, Unreal Engine 5.7.4.
Package Contents:
- Official unchanged UE4SS files, including the dwmapi.dll library and the ue4ss folder.
- Two search signature files for accurately locating required functions inside the game executable.
- The MemberVariableLayout.ini file with the correct engine structure order obtained from the running game.
- Keybind settings with an adjusted Ctrl and Num6 combination for proper type map dumping without crashes.
- The BPModLoaderMod module featuring automatic detection of the ProjectPBZ\Content\Paks\LogicMods folder to load Blueprint mods.
Correct Installation Folder:
- Files must be placed next to the main large PBZ.exe file around 500 megabytes in the platform\steam folder.
- Do not install files into the root steam folder, as it only contains a small game launcher.
- Do not install files into the ProjectPBZ\Binaries\Win64 folder, as there is no executable file there.
- If placed in an incorrect folder, the loader will not start.
- Compatibility with the Epic Games Store version has not yet been verified.
Installation:
- Download the modification archive.
- Navigate to your game installation folder and open the platform\steam directory.
- Extract the archive contents into this folder so that the dwmapi.dll file and the ue4ss folder sit next to PBZ.exe.
- Launch the game, and the log file will be generated at ue4ss\UE4SS.log.
- All user mods for UE4SS must be placed into the platform\steam\ue4ss\Mods folder.
Updating and Uninstallation:
- To update, close the game and unpack the new archive over the existing files, then verify mods.txt to ensure your mods remain active.
- To completely uninstall, close the game and delete dwmapi.dll along with the ue4ss folder next to PBZ.exe, which will also remove all mods installed inside it.
- Use only one UE4SS package at a time and delete previous versions before installing a new one.
Feature Status:
- Game launch and save game loading function stably.
- Lua modifications successfully read and modify player stats and call game functions.
- Built-in helper mods including Keybinds, ConsoleEnabler, and CheatManagerEnabler work properly.
- C++ header dumping via Ctrl and H as well as native type mapping generation via Ctrl and Num6 work without crashes.
- Blueprint modifications located in the LogicMods folder are detected and launched at every level load.
- A brief console window appearance on game launch is caused by scanning the LogicMods folder and closes automatically.
- Hooking ProcessConsoleExec is currently unavailable, so console commands added by mods might not function.
- Game patches may alter executables and cause search patterns to fail. If the game crashes at launch after a patch, temporarily remove dwmapi.dll until an updated loader is released.
