An expansion for World of Warcraft, Cataclysm centers on Deathwing’s awakening and the destruction he unleashes across Azeroth as the Horde and Alliance race to respond. Familiar regions of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms are reshaped, with new quests and areas to explore.
Players can join the Alliance as a worgen or the Horde as a goblin, and choose from new race and class combinations. The level cap rises to 85, with new abilities, talents, and a system for customizing character progression. Flying mounts can be used to explore Azeroth, while guilds advance through levels and earn achievements.
The expansion also adds the Archaeology profession, new high-level areas and raid content, and Tol Barad, an island with PvP objectives and daily quests. Rated battlegrounds provide another way to take part in player-versus-player battles.
