Minecraft to get a new mob with creepy habits

Yesterday, the Minecraft Live 2024 presentation took place, where Mojang shared the first look at the new content prepared for Minecraft. The popular sandbox will feature not only new tools and a biome, but also a very creepy mob.

A creature named Creaking will settle in the Pale Garden — another biome that will appear in the game after the update. The creature looks like a moss-covered tree with three glowing eyes. The main feature of Creaking will be its habits — the mob moves and attacks only when it is not being looked at, which is very reminiscent of creatures from the SCP universe. In addition, it is also completely invulnerable, and it can only be killed by finding the necessary artifact in the Pale Garden.

In addition to the biome and enemy, Minecraft will feature a new night ambient and a bag to save space in the inventory, as well as recipes for crafting from the Pale Oak material. The Bedrock version will receive support for a hardcore mode with permanent death. The update will be small and will be released this year.
