BioWare Looks to Be Ending Support for Dragon Age: The Veilguard
BioWare has released the fifth major patch for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. In the notes, the developers hinted that this will be the last major update for the game.
In a recent press release, Electronic Arts reported that the new Dragon Age did not live up to expectations. Instead of the projected 3 million, the game attracted an audience of only 1.5 million gamers. Moreover, it was not even about sales, since the report included subscribers to the EA Play Pro service. The actual number of copies sold for the game was never reported.
It is likely that after this, the publisher decided to end support for the project as quickly as possible. Players paid attention to the following lines in the patch notes for the latest update:
The words end with the parting words «Dareth shiral», which, according to the in-game lore, is translated from the Elvish language as «Farewell». It seems that this is how the Dragon Age: The Veilguard team said goodbye to the players.
As for the patch, it fixed several significant errors. The developers eliminated bugs in the romance with Lucanis and the Regrets of The Dread Wolf quest, and also corrected the use of runes in the lyrium dagger, bonuses from the «Imperium's Resolve» armor and the skill of wearing medium armor. In addition, companions now come to Rook's aid if he drowns on the beach in Rivain.
Recall that the game director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard recently left BioWare. One of the Dragon Age scriptwriters, who worked on the series for 15 years, also left the studio.
