Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 Creators Explain How One of Its Key Mechanics Works

The World of Darkness YouTube channel has released another episode of the Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 developer diary. This time, the creators of the vampire RPG sequel have revealed how the masquerade itself will work.

Recall that this is one of the main rules that the undead must follow in order to survive among people. The system was present in the original Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines, and will return in the sequel.

If the masquerade is violated, the player will see three types of indicators on the eye icon at the top of the screen — green, orange, and red:

  • Green — a minor offense, just hide.
  • Orange — the player has committed several mistakes, fed, or used aggressive abilities. In this case, you will have to deal with witnesses or avoid excessive police attention.
  • Red — the masquerade is broken and the police are chasing the player. In this case, it is better to run away and hide, since when the scale is filled, the Camarilla will eliminate the violator personally, which is demonstrated in the excerpt below:

Recall that Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. The project still does not have a release date, but Paradox Interactive intends to release the game in 2025.

Earlier, the developers of Bloodlines 2 showed a gameplay trailer with the abilities of different vampire clans.
