George R.R. Martin Hinted at Elden Ring Adaptation Again, But It's Not That Simple

An Elden Ring adaptation may still happen — at least, that's what George R. R. Martin thinks. However, the author of A Song of Ice and Fire is not sure that he will have enough time to write a script for the film.

Recall that in addition to the world for the basis of Game of Thrones, George R. R. Martin was actively involved in the plot and lore of Elden Ring from FromSoftware. Therefore, when information about a possible film adaptation appeared, fans immediately asked the writer whether he was involved in the development.

In an interview with IGN, George R. R. Martin once again gave rise to more rumors. But even if they are true, the author is too busy with The Winds of Winter, which may become a serious obstacle to working on the script:

Well, I can't say too much about it, but there is some talk about making a movie out of Elden Ring. We'll see if that [the Elden Ring movie] comes to pass and what the extent of my involvement was, I don't know. I'm a few years behind with my latest book, so that also limits the amount of things that I can do.
— George R. R. Martin

Note that there was no official information about the film adaptation of Elden Ring.

Recently, one of the streamers managed to complete all the soulsbornes from FromSoftware with a first-level character — after completing the run, he could not contain his emotions and burst into tears. Meanwhile, a reference to the legendary solo player of Elden Ring was found in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
