«It Really Changed My Life»: Actress Lady Dimitrescu Reveals How Resident Evil Village Role Changed Her Career

The mistress of the castle Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village has become as recognizable a symbol of the series as Nemesis or Tyrant. The big vampire not only won the hearts of players, but also seriously influenced the life of the performer herself.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, actress Maggie Robertson admitted that she did not consider participation in the development of Resident Evil Village as something serious. However, the performer still decided to give it her all and even brought theatrical notes to the game:
Having a Shakespeare background, I pulled a lot of Shakespeare stuff into this. There was something very Shakespearean in the way that she utilizes language. It's not just the claws, it's not just her transforming into a beast at the end that does damage. It's her words. She really uses the power of her words to hurt.
Maggie Robertson herself had no idea how serious the role in the game could be, and simply tried "not to make a fool of myself." The effect that Lady Dimitrescu had after the release of Resident Evil Village was even more unexpected.
And then to see the way that she was embraced by audiences, it was just very surreal. It really truly changed my life in every possible way.
The actress's career really took off: after Resident Evil, she was invited to the cast of such projects as God of War: Ragnarok and Baldur's Gate 3.
Recall that Capcom is currently working on Resident Evil 9. According to rumors, the game was planned to be released this year, but the studio decided to postpone the release.
