PHASE ZERO Announced — A New Horror with PS One-Style Graphics, Reminiscent of the Original Resident Evil

SPINA Studio has announced an old-school survival horror game titled PHASE ZERO, which harks back to the early days of Resident Evil. The developers have released a trailer and screenshots, along with some details about the game.

The key features highlighted by the developers include retro PS One-style graphics, fixed camera angles reminiscent of iconic '90s horror games, and hardcore survival with minimal resources.

The story unfolds in an episodic format, with each chapter featuring one of two playable characters.

"With pre-rendered backgrounds, fixed cameras, and the DNA of PSX-era masterpieces, the game combines nostalgic design with modern enhancements, paying homage to its iconic roots," reads the description.

The main events are set in the year 1994, in the post-industrial port city of Flint Peak, where a mysterious disease suddenly begins to spread rapidly, drastically altering the local population and turning them into monsters.

PHASE ZERO already has a page on Steam, and the developers promise to release a demo soon.
