Bloober Team, known for the Silent Hill 2 remake, has released a developer diary for the third-person survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn during the Future Games Show, where the developers shared insights about the project.
Here's what we know about Cronos: The New Dawn so far:
- Inspired by the movie The Thing, the series Dark, the game Dead Space, the film 12 Monkeys, and the Dark Souls series;
- The game will feature hardcore gameplay;
- The protagonist is a time diver;
- The setting is an alternate history: an apocalypse in the 1980s;
- The apocalyptic event is called "The Change";
- Enemies, known as Orphans, are what remains of humanity;
- Body horror is a significant element;
- All enemies are composed solely of human flesh;
- Aliens may be present in the game, but are not yet confirmed;
- Primary melee weapons include hand strikes and stomping;
- There's a flamethrower-like weapon;
- Fire plays a crucial role;
- There are bosses;
- A dismemberment system is confirmed;
- More gameplay content is expected soon;
