Cyberpunk 2077 Guides
It's impossible to single out one piece of weaponry in Cyberpunk 2077 as the absolute best. Much depends on your tactics and installed implants. In this article, we've discussed the most interesting examples from different classes, from knives and swords to long-range sniper rifles. If marked with Phantom Liberty, such weapons are only available in Dogtown. Players who have not yet purchased the expansion will not be able to access it.
New Characteristics of Iconic Weapons from the Original Cyberpunk 2077
In the 2.0 update, some weapons received new characteristics. The full list:
- Comrade's Hammer. It has a magazine with one explosive round that deals massive damage. Can be reloaded through a successful melee attack. This is extremely convenient, considering that standard magazine change takes a lot of time.
- Archangel. Fires at the speed of a submachine gun, deals 200% damage on headshots to enemies, has a 25% chance to penetrate armor and a 20% chance to cause shock. Successful shots can knock down an enemy.
- Ba Xing Chong. Now acts as a rocket launcher with explosive rounds and massive damage.
- La Chingona Dorada. Each hit on an enemy restores bullets in the magazine. If you hit an enemy in the head, it increases the chance to cause burn and the amount of critical damage.
- Dying Night. Shots while moving deal more damage and have a chance to shock enemies. Buttstock strikes hit enemies with electricity. — receives a damage boost while moving and can shock opponents. Also, this pistol deals shock damage in close combat.
- Satori. In addition to all the standard bonuses of this weapon, there's a high probability to cause bleeding.
Melee Weapons
Katanas, swords, clubs, and knives can only be used in close combat. Cyberpunk 2077 allows for taking down many enemies up close, especially if your melee weapon has additional perks that weaken enemies, set them on fire, or cause bleeding.
Nihan Knife (Cyberpunk 2077 2.0)
- Features: causes bleeding, restores the main character's health as the enemy's life force decreases.
- How to obtain: during the storyline mission Pass to the Major Leagues, you need to search the body of Saburo Arasaka.
Errata Thermal Katana (Cyberpunk 2077 2.0)
- Features: 25% armor penetration, 30% chance to cause burn. If you manage to burn the enemy, all subsequent attacks will be critical. Adds an additional perk in the form of long-distance jumps to enemies, as in the trailer.
- How to obtain: during the Malfunction mission from the main storyline of Cyberpunk 2077. The katana will be lying on the edge of an electric furnace. If you have moved further and failed to pick up this weapon, it can be purchased from black market traders in Dogtown.
Fang Knife (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 50% bonus damage on head attacks, 30% chance to cause bleeding, hits on the same body part deal increasingly more damage.
- How to obtain: if during the quest Firestarter you decide to help Reed catch Songbird, Colonel Hansen will confront you and throw this knife. Simply pick it up.
Murphy's Law Club (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 50% armor penetration, 20% chance to cause bleeding, stun, or shock. Attacking enemies who are knocked down increases the speed of strikes.
- How to obtain: if during the Firestarter[//b] mission you help Songbird escape, you will have to fight the thugs. Their lieutenant will be armed with this club. You can take it from the corpse.
Agau Axe (Phantom Liberty)
- [b]Feature: critical attacks generate electrical waves capable of damaging multiple enemies at once.
- How to obtain: kill Ayo Zarin, who is hiding in a voodooist shelter, and take the axe from his corpse.
Wolfhound Machete (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 25% armor penetration, 33% chance to ignite the enemy. Any hit on a burning enemy will deal critical damage.
- How to obtain: during the mission Waiting for Dodger at the meeting place with the key character, you will notice a huge metal container. This machete lies inside it.
Gwynbleidd Sword (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: after a quick kill, all subsequent attacks in the series will be critical. Additionally, the sword deals extra damage to bosses.
- How to obtain: have a digital version of the third Witcher (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt), Cyberpunk 2077, and Phantom Liberty on the same Steam or GOG account.
Pistols and Revolvers
Pistols can be used at close and medium range as a secondary weapon. It's always better to pull out a revolver and make a few shots than to start reloading your main weapon in the heat of battle. However, with proper upgrades, nothing prevents making a pistol your main argument in any shootout.
Gris-Gris Revolver (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 150% increase in damage when shooting in the head, 50% armor penetration. With a full charge, you will make several shots in a row, during which you can hack the enemy with a random virus. The effectiveness depends on your own hacking skills.
- How to obtain: at the beginning of the mission The Damned after infiltrating the site, you will see a door with a skull graffiti. Open it and check the contents of the briefcase.
Your Majesty Energy Pistol (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 150% damage increase when shooting in the head. Built-in silencer. If optical camouflage is activated, the pistol gains perfect accuracy, additional damage increase, and a 100% chance of a critical hit when hitting the head.
- How to obtain: During the mission Get It Together, you will find yourself near an arsenal under The Moth bar. The pistol is in a weapon crate.
Bald Eagle Energy Revolver (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 150% bonus for headshots, 75% armor penetration, fires explosive bullets.
- How to obtain: In the Firestarter mission, agree to help Reed catch Songbird, then kill Colonel Hansen. The revolver can be taken from his corpse.
Erebus Energy Submachine Gun (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 100% additional damage on headshots, 25% armor penetration. Shots become more effective if the enemies have low health.
- How to obtain the blueprint: During the mission Somewhat Damaged and This Corrosion, hack the terminals in the lower part of the building, reach the cafeteria, and enter the maintenance room. Ambition Pistol (Phantom Liberty)

Outlaw Pistol (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 150% bonus on headshots, 50% armor penetration, charged shots deal triple damage.
- How to obtain: In the Firestarter mission, help Songbird escape and kill anyone who tries to stop you. Then search their body.
Cheetah Energy Pistol (Phantom Liberty)
- Feature: Deals increased damage on body shots.
- How to obtain: Kill and search Angie's body during the side quest No Easy Way Out.
Rosco Energy Revolver (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 150% bonus to headshots, 25% armor penetration, critical attacks deal 50% more damage. Hitting the heads of prone enemies always results in critical shots. To knock down an enemy, shoot them in the legs or hit them with a baton.
- How to obtain: During the quest Waiting For Dodger, kill this guy and take the revolver from his body.
Ogou Smart Pistol (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 50% bonus on headshots, 25% armor penetration, critical shots deal 50% more damage. Each shot has a high chance of causing dismemberment. If this happens, the likelihood of critical damage and bleeding sharply increases.

Manchineel Energy Revolver (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 200% bonus to head attacks, 25% armor penetration, headshots may cause a poisoning effect. At the start of any combat, enemies won't see you for a few seconds.
- How to obtain: Start the mission Run This Town, which will be available after completing the quest Firestarter. Mr. Hands will give you the revolver at the beginning of the mission.
Crime Stopper Smart Pistol (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: Hits on cyber-limbs can disable them. This immobilizes the enemy and increases the chance of dealing critical damage.
- How to obtain: Infiltrate the top floor of the Heavy Hearts club. The pistol is in the VIP room of the local prosecutor.
Reliable Energy Revolver (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 200% damage bonus on headshots, 25% armor penetration, critical attacks deal 50% more damage. Effective range is increased. The farther the target, the higher the chance of landing a critical hit on headshots.
- How to obtain: During the A Shot From Both Sides mission, you need to kill Dante and pick up the revolver he drops.
Shotguns
A shotgun is an excellent choice for shootouts in narrow corridors and at close range. Dodging buckshot in tight spaces will be difficult, so you can easily deal with even a large group of enemies. However, at medium range, the effectiveness of this type of firearm decreases, so the shotgun can only be an additional, not the primary, weapon.
Alabai Energy Shotgun (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 85% damage bonus on successful headshots, 25% armor penetration, 10% chance to cause burn. Hits on enemies who have been burned are always critical.
- How to obtain: Complete the Airdrop mission.
Order Double-Barreled Shotgun (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 50% damage bonus on headshots, 100% armor penetration, 10% chance to cause shock. Charged shots can incinerate enemies.
- How to obtain: From a vendor at the Black Market. Access to it will open immediately after you visit Dog Town.
Deserter Shotgun (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 85% damage increase on headshots, 75% armor penetration, 20% chance to set the enemy on fire. Fires both shells at once, after which the weapon must be reloaded.
- How to obtain: Go to the location marked on the map. Approach the garage locked with a code lock and enter the combination 1975.
Rifles
An assault rifle maintains effectiveness at all ranges, making it a potential primary weapon in Cyberpunk 2077. However, we recommend not limiting yourself to just an assault rifle, but also acquiring an excellent sniper rifle. Rasetsu Energy Sniper Rifle (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 200% damage bonus on headshots, 50% armor penetration. Charged shots penetrate obstacles and enemies. If necessary, you can set a trajectory to hit multiple targets at once.

Hawk Power Assault Rifle (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 25% bonus to armor penetration, and if you shoot in the head, the damage increases by 175%. Headshots weaken enemies — they can no longer use special abilities, attack less effectively, and may lose balance.

Wild Dog Energy Machine Gun (Phantom Liberty)
- Features: 85% damage bonus on headshots, 25% armor penetration. Repeated attacks on the same body part increase the rate of fire and the chance of a critical attack. Deals massive damage in close combat.
- How to obtain: During the mission Firestarter, help Reed catch Songbird, then shoot Colonel Hansen. Search his body and take the machine gun.
