How to Start and Complete the Quest A Beggar's Tale

To trigger the quest, you first need to complete the story quest «The Lord's Throne». Only after this can you converse with the beggar in the Vernworth Trade Quarter.

If the conditions are met, head to the designated area and find the beggar by the fountain. The guy will only appear during the daytime. Interact with him and pay 100 gold. This will activate the quest and you'll hear his story, after which you can proceed to complete the quest.

The task requires you to track this character's movements to discover his primary means of earning. However, if you don't want to spend time, directly head to Walter's tavern, located in the slums.

If the beggar is not in the tavern, move to the location indicated on the map below, and approach the locked door of the nearest house.

It will be locked, but you will hear the beggar's voice behind the door. Just wait a few minutes, after which the guy will come out, and you can inspect the premises and take the clothing.

But the task does not end here. The player needs to decide what to do with the clothing — this will affect the ending and the overall reward for completing the quest.

Who to Give the Beggar's Garment To

Currently, there are three endings that the player can achieve. Below we will discuss each of them in more detail.

Give the Clothing to Albert

Return to the beggar, who will be waiting for you at the Boldwin estate, and give him his garment back. Choosing this option, the man will continue to lead a double life and will give you 5000 gold. As a reward, you will receive 900 experience.

Give the Clothing to Selene

For this ending, you need to go to the tavern and give the garment to Selene. After doing this, wait until the next morning and return to Albert's house. You will not find the man here, but the guard will tell you that Selene killed him and then herself. You will receive 3000 gold and 900 experience.

Give the Clothing to Hilde

This ending is considered the best, but in this case, the player will not receive any gold coins. Go to the Boldwin estate and tell Hilde about the events that transpired. After that, you will have to wait until morning and return to the woman. She will give you 3 onyx stones, and for completing the task, the player will receive 900 experience.
