At the crossroads between the pharmacy and the tavern, you will find a short guy with a sword and shield. If you start a dialogue with him, he will ask for help: his brother has gotten into trouble not far from this place.

Follow the man past the burnt gates and make sure to refuse Gregor, so he continues to wait for you at this spot. Reaching the campfire, Ian will suggest taking a break and waiting until evening. If you don't have a travel sack (which is likely), don't be disheartened. Right next to the campfire, there happens to be one such item.

Run after the marker and fight a small group of wolves. Along the way, you might also encounter other monsters. All that's left is to escort the brothers back to the village, but it's recommended to stop at the campfire and wait until morning before proceeding.
