Gaoled Awakening: Dragon's Dogma 2 Walkthrough Guide

Having chosen the hero and customized him to your liking, follow the overseer through the mine until you reach a dead end. He will instruct you to move a boulder — do it. Approach any stone, pick it up, and carry it to the overseer.

As soon as you do this, a monster will attack the miners. Your character will automatically select a weapon that matches his class. Deal damage to the monster until it decides to leave the cave. A lengthy cutscene will follow, after which you will wake up on the riverbank.

When a small squad of soldiers finds you, the quest will be completed.
