Arataki Itto in Genshin Impact: Best Builds for Weapons and Artifacts, Skills, Talents, Leveling Up and Ascension
The latest 2.3 update for Genshin Impact traditionally adds several new characters. In this guide, we'll cover all the information about Arataki Itto — the brave leader of a band of thieves.
Who is Arataki Itto and How to Get Him
The character will become available on December 14, 2021. There's little information about Arataki. It is known that he is the leader of the Arataki Gang in Hanamizaka and has familial ties to the Oni demons, which is emphasized by his small horns. An explosive personality and self-love are the hero's distinctive traits. During the exploration of Inazuma, you can find letters on the bulletin board. In them, Itto has a lengthy correspondence with Sara, demanding a rematch for a lost fight. The bandit regularly adds various haughty epithets to his initials — the greatest, the sumo king, and others.
If you meet the snack seller Yukio, he might tell you how once an Oni and a woman with fox ears made a bet on who could eat the most kitsune ramen. However, the dish contained fried tofu. The Oni had an allergy to beans, but it didn't stop him, and he still won the bet. Most likely, the woman with the ears was Yae Miko, and the Oni was Arataki.
After completing the hunt for the Eye of the God, you can find an announcement in which Itto rejoices that his artifact was returned. Now he is ready to make a name for himself again.
Like other characters, this five-star bandit can be obtained through wishes.
Artworks of Arataki Itto
Arataki Itto's Active Talents
Normal Attack — Itto performs up to four strikes. When the last one hits an enemy, the hero gains two stacks of super strength. He can have a total of five stacks.
Charged Attack — spending stamina, Itto performs a single strike. If there are stacks of super strength, a special attack will be performed without stamina consumption — one stack of super strength per hit. When all super strength is used, a powerful final attack will be executed.
Plunging Attack — standard quick descent dealing physical damage to the area around the impact point.
Masatsu Zetsugi: Akaushi Burst! (Elemental Skill) — Arataki summons a bull that deals Geo damage. When the animal hits enemies, Arataki Itto gains one stack of super strength. By holding the skill, you can also choose the summoning location. The bull has additional properties:
- Distracts all enemies;
- The bull's health equals Itto's health;
- When the bull takes damage, Arataki gains one stack of super strength (no more than once every two seconds);
- When the bull leaves the battlefield, the hero gains one stack of super strength.
Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil! — Arataki Itto transforms into the Raging Demon King. The hero receives the following enhancements:
- Damage from his normal, charged, and plunging attacks becomes Geo damage;
- Itto's attack power increases based on his defense;
- The speed of normal attacks increases;
- The first, second, and third strikes in a series of normal attacks grant Itto one super strength stack upon hitting an enemy;
- The character gains 20% physical and elemental resistance.
Arataki Itto's Passive Talents
Traditionally, there are three passive skills. Initially, only one of them will be available to you, but others will unlock as you increase the level of ascension.
Fighter's Burden: For a short time after using an elemental skill or sprint, Itto's series of normal attacks will not be interrupted.
Arataki Ichiban: Second phase of ascension. When Arataki Itto consecutively uses special charged attacks, he receives the following effects (will be reset as soon as the series is interrupted):
- Each subsequent hit is 10% faster. The maximum attack speed increase is 30%;
- Significantly increases interruption resistance.
Bloodline of the Crimson Demon: Fourth phase of ascension. Damage of special charged attacks increased by 35% of Arataki Itto's defense.
Arataki Itto's Constellations
Constellations are additional abilities that can significantly change a character's properties.
- Stay and Listen — after activating the elemental burst, Arataki Itto will gain two super strength stacks. He will also gain an additional stack every second (up to three times);
- Gather 'Round, It's a Fight! — after activating the elemental burst, Arataki Itto reduces his skill cooldown by 1.5 seconds and gains six units of energy for each Geo member in the party (up to six seconds and 24 units of energy);
- Horns Lowered, Charge! — increases the level of the elemental skill by three (maximum level 15);
- Jailhouse Bread and Butter — during the elemental burst, Itto has a 25% higher chance of a critical hit against enemies with equal or less health percentage than him;
- 10 Years of Hanamizaka Fame — increases the level of the elemental burst by three (maximum level 15);
- Arataki Itto, Present! — Arataki Itto's charged attacks deal 50% increased critical damage. Moreover, when he uses special charged attacks, he has a 50% chance not to consume super strength stacks.
Where to Find (How to Obtain) Ascension Materials for Arataki Itto
Ascension is a quality improvement of a character after reaching a certain level. Different amounts of materials are required for each level.
- Level 20 — 1 Prithiva Topaz Fragment, 3 Onikabuto beetles, 3 Slime Condensates, 20,000 Mora;
- Level 40 — 3 Prithiva Topaz Fragments, 2 Riftborn Regalia, 10 Onikabuto beetles, 15 Slime Condensates, 40,000 Mora;
- Level 50 — 6 Prithiva Topaz Fragments, 4 Riftborn Regalia, 20 Onikabuto beetles, 12 Slime Secretions, 60,000 Mora;
- Level 60 — 3 Prithiva Topaz Chunks, 8 Riftborn Regalia, 30 Onikabuto beetles, 18 Slime Secretions, 80,000 Mora;

- Level 80 — 6 Prithiva Topaz Gemstones, 20 Riftborn Regalia, 60 Onikabuto beetles, 24 Slime Concentrates, 120,000 Mora.
Prithiva Topaz — one of the materials needed for the ascension of Geo characters. Like other precious stones, it comes in shard, fragment, chunk, and gemstone forms. This resource can be obtained in several ways:
- In battles against the Geo Hypostasis;
- From Katheryne at the Adventurers' Guild after completing all daily commissions;
- Participation in various in-game events;
- Crafting;
- After defeating the Golden Wolflord boss (this boss was introduced in update 2.3).
Riftborn Regalia — a new resource that can be obtained after battling the Golden Wolflord. Since the boss is already available, and Arataki will only be released on December 14, you will have time to collect a sufficient amount of this valuable ingredient.
Onikabuto Beetles — some of the most common inhabitants of Inazuma. These beetles are usually found on trees and are not sold by any vendor.
Slime — another common resource that can be obtained by killing slimes. You likely already have a huge stock, but if not — head out to complete the Ley Line Outcrop challenges, Blossom of Wealth or Blossom of Revelation in Mondstadt.
There, you'll have to battle several waves of enemies, and you'll quickly gather a lot of slime.

Elegance Scrolls — This material can be earned in the Violet Court on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. To unlock this domain, simply head to the small island between Narukami and the Kujou Camp. As with other domains, obtaining rewards costs 20 Resin, so always attempt the most challenging version possible to have a chance at a rarer version of the material or use Condensed Resin to double the rewards.
Ashen Heart — can be obtained after defeating La Signora at level 70+.
Crown of Insight — one of the rarest but necessary materials for leveling up talents. Absolutely every character will need a crown at the later skill levels. It's not easy to obtain. Most often, the Crown of Insight appears in the reward shop of various events. Another way is to level up the Frostbearing Tree or the Sacred Sakura, which can earn you several crowns.
The Best Weapon and Artifact Build for Arataki Itto
Arataki Itto is a strong offensive character. His damage output relies on his defense stat. You should focus on the following stats:
- Geo damage bonus;
- Crit Rate/Crit Damage;
- Defense;
- Attack power.
For such an offensive hero, it doesn't make sense to focus on Elemental Mastery — the durability of Geo shields will increase, but they are more useful for their quantity than their strength.
Also, there's little point in seriously increasing the health pool — the summoned bull will become more durable, but this is actually of minimal benefit.
The best weapon would be the five-star Redhorn Stonethresher. Base damage from 46 to 608. Crit Damage from 14.4% to 66.2%. The sword increases defense by 20%-40%. Normal and Charged Attack damage also increase by 28%-56% of Defense. This weapon will be introduced in the new update 2.3.
A good alternative would be another blade Dragonbone Sword — as long as the character is in combat, every four seconds their dealt damage increases by 6%-10% and received damage increases by 3%-1.8%. This effect can stack up to five times and does not reset when switching characters. When taking damage, the counter decreases by one stack. Despite having four stars, this is an excellent weapon aimed at increasing the chance of critical damage. It can only be obtained with real money by reaching level 30 in the battle pass through Pearl Horizon.
Another option is Whiteblind. This sword increases attack power and defense by 6%-12% for six seconds upon hitting with a normal or charged attack. The effect can stack up to four times and can occur no more than once every 0.5 second. A very powerful weapon capable of significantly enhancing both damage and defense. The sword can be crafted.
Serpent Spine — also a four-star sword. Defeated enemies increase attack power by 12%-24%. The effect lasts for 30 seconds and can stack up to 3 times. It can be obtained in Paimon's shop.
Artifacts you will need:
Husk of Opulent Dreams — an unreleased set aimed at increasing Geo damage and defense.
- 2 pieces: defense +30%;
- 4 pieces: when the active character deals Geo damage, they gain +6% defense and +6% Geo damage. Stacks up to four times. When the character is off-field, they gain one stack every three seconds. If no new stacks are accumulated, the total stacks decrease by one every six seconds.
Retracing Bolide — a decent increase to shields.
- 2 pieces: increases shield strength;
- 4 pieces: increases normal and charged attack damage by 40% when protected by a shield.
Heart of Depth — a good set that is only useful in its complete form.
- 2 pieces: increases Hydro damage bonus by 15%;
- 4 pieces: increases normal and charged attack damage by 30% for 15 seconds after using an elemental skill.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Arataki Itto
Arataki Itto is a powerful main DPS character. However, his attack power directly depends on a set of limitations.
The advantages include:
- significant damage during elemental burst;
- significant damage from elemental skill;
- the final hit of special charged attacks deals significant damage;
- high defense and resistance stats.
Disadvantages:
- low base attack;
- difficulty in determining the character's place in the team and the sequence of character swaps;
- unstable damage dependent on the ultimate.
How to play as Arataki Itto? Which characters synergize well in a team with Arataki Itto?
Itto's main mechanic is his super strength, activating special charged attacks. It's not yet clear exactly how this will work. Possibly, the best strategy is to accumulate only one stack and spend it immediately, as the final strike (when spending all stacks) deals a lot of damage, making it more beneficial to use it more frequently.
The damage from the character's elemental skill is greater than the elemental burst damage of many other characters. Meanwhile, the skill's cooldown is only 10 seconds and can be significantly reduced with the second constellation. Due to the high defense stat, activating the elemental burst significantly enhances the attack power, and thus the skill.
Without the second constellation, the character loses effectiveness, so we recommend unlocking it as soon as possible.
Suitable team compositions:
- Arataki Itto, Geo Traveler, Xiangling, Bennett — attack power buff and healing from Bennett, Xiangling increases damage, Geo Traveler buffs critical hit chance and enhances Arataki Itto;
- Arataki Itto, Gorou, Ningguang, Fischl — upgraded constellations are very important. Gorou and Itto should have at least their second constellations. Gorou with the fourth constellation can heal. Fischl adds good damage and Geo shields;
- Arataki Itto, Ningguang, Chongyun, Bennett — all characters enhance Itto's damage;
- Arataki Itto, Gorou, Mona, Bennett — maximizes damage from Itto's elemental skill;
- Arataki Itto, Gorou, Electro Traveler, Fischl — Electro characters charge energy for each other, and the Traveler enhances Itto.
