Collei in Genshin Impact: Best Builds for Weapons and Artifacts, Skills, Talents and Leveling
Collei is one of the new playable characters in Genshin Impact 3.0. The massive update will unlock access to the mysterious region of Sumeru and traditionally expand the list of available heroes. In this guide, we'll tell you how to obtain Collei, what abilities she possesses, how to quickly level her up, and also describe the best weapons and artifacts for the hero.
Who is Collei
The girl with green hair is a Dendro character with long-range bow attacks. Collei serves as an intern for the Forest Watch in the Avidya Forest located in Sumeru. She started her training later than the others, so now she's trying her hardest to catch up with her colleagues. She's full of enthusiasm and ready for heroic deeds, but behind the mask of cheerfulness, there's a person with a troubled past and complex character.
Collei is a victim of the Fatui experiments, suffering from a very rare disease. For a long time, she hated all living things, not believing in the Archons and their help. It was only after meeting Amber that the heroine found the strength to see the world in a new light.
Collei's rarity is four stars, meaning she's not as hard to obtain as five-star heroes. In battle, the character is best suited for a support role, relying on her bow and area of effect elemental attacks. Collei will also be useful to players who want to increase their stamina during gliding.
How to Obtain Collei
The girl with green hair will become available immediately after the update launches — on August 24th. As usual, she can be won in wishes or obtained for free after completing the «Child's Tale» quest. In update 3.1, Collei will be available in the standard banner, making her possible to obtain with a much lower probability.

What are Collei's Active Talents
All her abilities are directly related to Dendro damage, which serves as a good foundation for subsequent reactions. Besides Collei, only the five-star character Tighnari — also a Dendro character — can create a similar base for combos.
Forest Watcher's Bow (normal attack): up to 4 shots with a bow. In charged form, it deals increased damage. The arrow also accumulates Dendro damage. During a plunge attack, Collei releases a barrage of arrows, dealing normal area damage.
Trump-Card Kitty (elemental skill): throws a Floral Ring (boomerang), dealing Dendro damage to all enemies in its path once. Upon returning to Collei, it deals elemental damage again. The skill's cooldown time is 12 seconds.
The Cat's Tail Secret (elemental burst): the heroine throws a Cuilein-Anbar doll, which explodes, dealing area Dendro damage. This outlines an area where Cuilein-Anbar continuously moves, dealing Dendro damage over 6 seconds. The skill's cooldown time is 15 seconds.
What are Collei's Passive Talents
There are traditionally three passive talents. Initially, only one of them will be available to you, but others will unlock as you increase the ascension level.
Sumeru's Flight Champion: Stamina consumption during gliding is reduced by 20%. This effect does not stack with passive talents providing the same bonus.
Floral Sidewinder: The active character who triggered reactions of Burning, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, or Catalyze before the Floral Ring's return, will receive the Sprout effect for 3 seconds upon its return. Enemies nearby will start taking Dendro damage (40% of Collei's Attack Power). Reactivating the skill removes the existing effect. Sprout damage is considered elemental skill damage.
Whispers in the Woods: When the active character within the area of the elemental burst triggers reactions of Burning, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, or Catalyze, the duration of the Cuilein-Anbar area is increased by 1 second. The duration of the same Cat's Tail Secret can be extended up to 3 times this way.
Collei's Constellations
Constellations are additional abilities that can significantly alter a character's properties.
- Forest Watch: If Collei is in the party, her energy recharge on the battlefield is increased by 20%.
- Through Mountains and Forests: When using the passive talent Floral Sidewinder and obtaining Sprout, upon re-triggering reactions (Burning, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, or Catalyze), the effect is not refreshed but extended by 3 seconds, only once. Thus, the duration of the passive skill can be extended to 6 seconds.
- Fragrance of Summer: Increases the level of the elemental skill by 3 (maximum level is 15).
- Gift of the Woods: After activating the elemental burst, the elemental mastery of all squad members is increased by 60 points (except for Collei herself). The effect lasts for 12 seconds.
- All as Coals: Increases the level of the elemental burst by 3 (maximum level is 15).
- Forest of Falling Arrows: When the Floral Ring hits, a miniature Cuilein-Anbar appears, dealing Dendro damage equal to 200% of Collei's attack power. Only one miniature Cuilein-Anbar can be created with each use of the elemental skill.
We recommend paying attention to the first and fourth constellations. Forest Watch will allow the heroine to regenerate energy 20% faster. Since the main damage from Collei comes from the elemental burst, after activating the constellation, the archer will be able to use her most powerful attack more frequently, and from a safe distance. Gift of the Woods will increase the elemental mastery of the entire squad after using Collei's elemental burst, further enhancing the heroine's value as a support character.

Mold King's Beak drops as a reward for defeating Feathered Mold Kings level 30 and above.

Scrolls of Sincerity can be found in Sumeru. They are also a reward for completing the Steeple of Ignorance domain.
Crown of Insight — one of the rarest but necessary materials for talent level-up. A crown is required for every character at the final levels of skills. Obtaining it is not easy. Most often, the Crown of Insight appears in the reward shop of various time-limited events. Another way is to level up the Frostbearing Tree or the Sacred Sakura. This way, you can earn several crowns.
The Best Weapon and Artifact Build for Collei
Collei is a character optimized for enhancing reaction damage, which in turn relies on Elemental Mastery and Attack Power (due to her passive talent). Although the archer is primarily focused on supporting the team, she can also deal damage, especially through her Elemental Burst. When selecting artifacts, we recommend paying attention to the following stats:
- Flower of Life — affects health;
- Plume of Death — affects Attack Power;
- Sands of Eon — affects Elemental Mastery and Attack Power in percentages;
- Goblet of Eonothem — affects Dendro Damage Bonus in percentages and Elemental Mastery;
- Circlet of Logos — affects Critical Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Elemental Mastery.
Overall, for comfortable gameplay, the hero's stats should be approximately as follows:
- Elemental Mastery — from 200 units;
- Attack Power — from 1900 units;
- Critical Hit Rate and Critical Damage — from 50 and 100 units respectively;
- Energy Recharge — from 180%.
Suitable Artifacts:
Deepwood Memories — a decent set that allows Collei to reduce Dendro resistance in the area of her Elemental Burst even when she is not the active character.
- 2-piece set: increases Dendro Damage by 15%;
- 4-piece set: hitting with an Elemental Skill or Burst reduces the Dendro resistance of enemies by 30% for 8 seconds. This effect occurs even if the character is not on the field.
Gilded Dreams — this set provides a good bonus for Elemental Mastery and Attack Power. It also affects the damage of the Elemental Skill Seed and the miniature Cuilein-Anbar.
- 2-piece set: increases Elemental Mastery by 80 units;
- 4-piece set: for 8 seconds after triggering an elemental reaction, depending on the elements of allied characters in the party, the active character gets the following buffs:
- Attack Power is increased by 14% for each character of the same element;
- Elemental Mastery is increased by 50 units for each character of a different element.
Each of these buffs includes up to 3 characters in the calculation. The effect can occur once every 8 seconds and triggers even if the artifact bearer is not on the field.
Noblesse Oblige — this set strengthens the squad and increases overall damage when using an Elemental Burst.
- 2-piece set: increases Elemental Burst Damage by 20%;
- 4-piece set: activating an Elemental Burst increases the Attack Power of all party members by 20% for 12 seconds. This effect does not stack.
Instructor — a set that increases Elemental Mastery for both Collei and the team.
- 2-piece set: increases Elemental Mastery by 80 units;
- 4-piece set: triggering an elemental reaction increases the Elemental Mastery of the entire party by 120 units for 8 seconds.
Suitable Weapons:
Elegy for the End — a five-star bow that provides a high base attack, good energy recharge, and a passive increase in Elemental Mastery. Increases the wielder's Elemental Mastery by 60-120 units, as well as increasing the Elemental Mastery of allies by 100-200 units.
King's Squire — a new four-star bow from Sumeru that enhances Collei's attack and Elemental Mastery. Using an Elemental Skill or Burst grants the Forest's Instruction effect, increasing Elemental Mastery by 60 units for 12 seconds. If the bow wielder leaves the field, the effect ends. At the end of the effect, a random nearby enemy takes damage equal to 100% of the attack power. This effect can occur once every 20 seconds.
Favonius Warbow — a four-star bow that passively generates energy particles for the entire party and increases the hero's energy recharge. A critical chance of 50% or higher is required to trigger the passive effect.
Sacrificial Bow — a four-star weapon. Hits with an Elemental Skill have a 40% to 80% chance to immediately reset its cooldown. Can occur no more than once every 16-30 seconds.
The Stringless — a straightforward four-star bow that increases Elemental Mastery and enhances ability damage. Elemental Skill and Burst damage is increased by 24% to 48%.
Mitternachts Waltz — a four-star bow. The damage of the character's Elemental Burst, who is equipped with this weapon, is increased by 0.12% for each unit of the entire team's energy. The resulting damage increase cannot exceed 40%.
Windblume Ode — this four-star bow is freely distributed by the Sumeru Fisherman's Association. It increases energy recharge and triggers an effect that deals AoE damage based on attack power. Activating an Elemental Skill triggers the Riptide effect: attacks on hit deal AoE damage equal to 80% of attack power. After 15 seconds or after 3 successful hits, the effect disappears. It deals damage no more than once every 2 seconds and can occur once every 12 seconds.
Dark Hunter — the bow has four stars. It increases the character's damage from 2% to 4% per second when they are off the field. The maximum amount of damage that can be dealt can reach from 20% to 40%. If the character appears on the field, the accumulated bonus will start to decrease from 4% to 8% per second until it reaches zero.
Pros and Cons of Collei
Collei is an excellent support for your team. Her passive talents are aimed at enhancing Dendro reactions.
Pros:
- All abilities apply effects on enemies and deal damage;
- Fits well into many combos;
- Area of effect damage when using Elemental Burst and subsequent periodic Dendro damage in the area;
- Low cost of Elemental Burst;
- Good base attack, which can be made even higher. This allows turning Collei into an attacking hero.
Cons:
- Especially useful only when interacting with other elements;
- Dendro reacts not with all elements, complicating team composition;
- Enhancement of Elemental Mastery for the whole team is only unlocked at the fourth constellation.
How to play as Collei? Which heroes combine well in a team with Collei
Collei is not the easiest character to master. To utilize her full potential, you will need to keep track of many variables and switch characters timely.
Acting by default as a support, the archer is capable of dealing significant damage with her Elemental Skill and Burst. It's important to consider her very useful passive talents, which provide enhancements to reactions with Dendro element. The main thing to remember when playing with a team including Collei is the Sprout effect. If other characters trigger reactions before the boomerang returns, the buff deals prolonged Dendro damage to enemies, depending on Collei's attack power. The Elemental Burst summons a doll that attacks the area. If other heroes within the burst's area activate reactions, the skill's duration increases.
At the start of the battle, apply a status to the enemies with some hero (not Collei) or start the fight as her and use the Elemental Skill, then quickly switch to another character to continue the combo. It all depends on the team composition.
In any case, try to use the archer's Elemental Burst as quickly as possible, then switch her out for another character and trigger reactions to activate her passive talent.
Keep in mind that the reaction damage depends on the Elemental Mastery of the character who finishes it. Most often, it's advantageous for Collei to be the last one, however, there are times (when her Elemental Mastery isn't sufficient) that it's better to leave the final attack to another hero.
