Yelan's Active Abilities

  • Stealthy Bowshot (Normal Attack): The character performs up to four shots with a bow. The charged version of this attack deals Hydro damage. If Yelan stays out of combat for 5 seconds or more, she will enter the Breakthrough state. In this state, the cooldown time of the charged attack will deal AoE damage, and its power will depend on the girl's maximum health. The cooldown time for this ability will decrease by 80%. Yelan's Plunging Attack launches a barrage of arrows that attacks enemies in an area.
  • Lifeline Tangles (Elemental Skill): The archer runs across the battlefield, releasing lifelines that mark enemies. After the movement ends, they explode, dealing Hydro damage to marked enemies. The damage amount depends on Yelan's maximum health. If you simply press the button for the elemental skill, the sprint will be short and straight forward. If you hold it down, the girl can run longer, and you will control the direction of movement. It stops upon reusing the elemental skill. Meanwhile, each enemy marked by the threads increases the chance of triggering the Breakthrough effect by 34%.
  • Exquisite Throw (Elemental Burst): The character deals AoE Hydro damage and summons a familiar. It has a certain probability to attack enemies simultaneously with normal bow shots and is guaranteed to hit enemies when the lifelines deal damage to them. The ally's attack power depends on Yelan's maximum health.

Yelan's Passive Talents

  • Turn of Fortune. Increases the rewards from expeditions in Liyue by 25% for 20 hours.
  • Breakthrough Control. Yelan's maximum health increases depending on the number of different elements in the team. If the team consists of heroes of one element, the health scale increases by 6%, if of two — then by 12%, of three — by 18%, of four — by 30%.
  • Adaptive in Every Way. Immediately after summoning Exquisite Throw, the archer's attack increases by 1%. Then it will increase by 3.5% every second until it reaches 50%.

Yelan's Constellations

Constellations are special talents each hero can possess, which can increase damage, vitality, extend the duration or damage of the elemental skill and burst. To unlock a constellation for Yelan, you need to obtain the character again during the wishes.

  • Taking All Comers. Each enemy marked by the lifelines restores 7 units of energy, but no more than 21 units for one use of the elemental skill;
  • Bait-and-Switch: The number of lifeline charges increases by 1;
  • Dealer's Sleight: Increases the level of the elemental skill by 3 levels (maximum — 15);
  • Beware the Trickster's Dice: Increases the damage of the familiar's attack by 30%;
  • Beware of Swindlers: Increases the level of the elemental burst by 3 levels (maximum — 15);
  • Winner Takes All: After using the elemental burst, Yelan enters the Strategist state. In this state, normal attacks deal 30% more damage. The effect lasts 20 seconds and will end after 6 arrows are fired.

The Best Weapon and Artifact Build for Yelan

The best weapon for this heroine is the Aqua Simulacra. It increases health by 16-32%. When enemies are near the character, their attack increases by 20-40%. Currently, this weapon is not available, but it will likely become available with the release of Yelan itself.

An alternative option is the Elegy for the End. This bow increases elemental mastery by 60-120. If you hit an enemy with an elemental skill or burst, you will receive 1 Sigil of Remembrance. When there are 4 sigils, they will disappear, but your characters' attack will increase by 20-40%, and elemental mastery will be increased by 100-200 for 12 seconds. After this, new Sigils will not appear for 20 seconds. This bow can also be obtained through the Epitome Invocation.

Yelan's elemental skill and burst damage directly depend on her maximum health. Therefore, from the artifacts, an excellent choice would be the Tenacity of the Millelith. Two items from this set increase health by 20%. You can find it in the Mountain Cavern domain.

As a second set, it's better to take Heart of Depth. If your character equips 2 artifacts from this set, then their Hydro attack will be increased by 15%. You can get these items in the Peak of Vindagnyr domain.

If desired, you can use all 4 artifacts from the Heart of Depth set. In this case, instead of increasing health, you will receive an increase in damage from normal and charged attacks by 30% for 15 seconds after using an elemental skill.

How to Play Yelan. Which Characters Combine Well with Her in a Team

Yelan is an archer who acts as the main attacking character. Use the elemental burst to summon a familiar, then apply the elemental skill. After the detonation of the threads, your ally will attack all enemies that have received damage. When switching characters, try to keep Yelan off the battlefield for at least 5 seconds to increase the damage of charged attacks.

The character's second passive skill involves increasing health if there are representatives of different elements in the squad. Thanks to this, you will additionally increase the damage of charged attacks, elemental skill, and elemental burst.

Optimal Team Composition with Yelan:

  • Yelan (main attacking character);
  • Rosaria, Diona, or Kaeya (Cryo character for support and dealing additional damage).
  • Albedo, Noelle, Zhongli, or Ningguang (Geo characters for creating elemental shields);
  • Jean (healer and Anemo character for increasing damage).

Depending on the opponents, Cryo characters can be replaced with Electro characters (Beidou, Lisa, or Fischl) or Pyro characters (Bennett, Xinyan, Thoma, Amber, or Xiangling).
