In Hades 2, players will encounter a small arsenal of diverse weapons, each offering unique abilities and combat styles, enriching the journey into the depths of the Underworld. Today, we will dive into a detailed overview of all the weapons available in Hades 2, as well as explain how to unlock aspects for each type of weapon.
Note: Currently, the game allows you to experience five unique types of weapons, each opening new horizons for mastery and strategy. Your adventure begins with the Witch's Staff, which you receive from the start, and the rest of the weapons can be unlocked by following special recipes. If the list updates in the future, we will refresh this guide.
In Hades 2, aspects open the doors to the world of alternative versions of each weapon, enriching the gameplay with unique modifiers and visual changes. While the core essence of the weapon remains unchanged, the addition of passive improvements can radically transform your approach to battles. To unlock additional versions, special reagents must be used.
Initially, your arsenal will be quite basic, represented by one version of each type of weapon. However, as you progress through the story, you will acquire a magical spell that allows unlocking different weapon aspects, each of which introduces its adjustments and may better match your playstyle.
To activate an aspect, a specific recipe must be fulfilled, using five bronze coins and one night's gloom. After this, you can select the desired aspect in the weapon circle at the training ground.
Upgrading each weapon aspect is possible up to four times, thus reaching the fifth level of power. These boosts can provide the weapon with new abilities, for example, the ability to strike enemies in the back, or enhance existing abilities of the Melinoe aspect, making your weapon even more powerful and effective in combat.
The Witch's Staff is the starting weapon, available from the very beginning of the game. It is relatively simple but has several useful abilities:
Aspect of Melinoe:
Aspect of Momus:
Aspect of Circe:
Becomes available for unlocking after you collect 1 unit of silver. The weapon consists of a pair of short daggers, convenient for performing quick attacks at close range. Silver can only be obtained after creating the Moon Scythe in the weapon selection menu at the Crossroads. Go to the tab with the corresponding icon and spend one unit of Moly.
Once you do this, run to the next boss. Right before the fight with them in the last location, do not miss the silver ore deposit. Inspect other maps as well — the ore may appear in a random place.
The Sister Blades are a splendid choice for those who prefer dynamic and active combat in Hades 2. Using their primary attack, you can perform a series of strikes, starting from the arc attacks of Melinoe, moving to a piercing strike, and finishing with a powerful sweeping blow, capable of dealing significant damage. It becomes even higher if combined with the right Gifts.
The special attack of these blades is perfect for attacking groups of enemies due to its wide coverage, although it has a limited range of action, making them ideal for aggressive close combat fights. Add to this the Gift of Hestia, which provides controlled burning, and you get a powerful weapon capable of dealing significant fire damage to enemies.
Aspect of Melinoe:
Aspect of Artemis:
Aspect of Pan:
These torches once belonged to Hecate, and with them, you'll be able to master the mentor's abilities. Unlocking them requires 3 units of silver and the same amount of gauze.
The Umbral Flames are perfect for those who prefer long-range battles. However, if you are accustomed to close combat using the Moon Axe or The Sister Blades, the initial adaptation to long-range combat strategy can be a real challenge. The Omega attack, being extremely effective, allows for maintaining mobility, though it reduces movement speed during its execution.
For effective use of The Umbral Flames, it is recommended to choose Arcana cards that enhance magical abilities, as magic will be your main tool in both attacks and special actions. First and foremost, pay attention to the Huntress card, which increases damage from magical attacks and special strikes by 30% when the mana reserve level drops to zero. The Titan card, available for unlocking in the early stages, provides an additional 20 units to magic and health, becoming an indispensable resource for your build.
[b]Aspect of Melinoe:
Aspect of Eos:
Aspect of the Moirai:
The Moonstone Axe — a heavy and rough weapon with great power. To create it, you'll need to spend 15 units of silver.
Initially, The Moonstone Axe might seem difficult to master due to its noticeable weight and slowness compared to other weapons in Hades 2. However, once mastered, you'll find it has immense potential, making it one of the best options in the game.
Using dodge and attack, you can deliver powerful hits to enemies from behind. The blocking function, activated while preparing for the special Omega-attack, also serves as a valuable tool, preventing enemies from attacking you during pauses for ability activation.
Once you adapt to the increased weight of the weapon and enhance it with suitable cards and blessings, the Moonstone Axe will become your reliable tool for clearing arenas of enemy waves. It is also recommended to apply blessings that impose elemental damage effects and the Arcana card The Magician, which slows down time when casting spells, giving you more opportunities to activate the special skill.
The Invisible card can also be extremely useful, as frequent use of magic with this axe requires constant mana regeneration. The Arcana card provides mana regeneration (1 unit of mana every 2 seconds), allowing you to use special Omega-attacks more frequently.
Aspect of Melinoe:
Aspect of Thanatos:
Aspect of Charon:
The Argent Skull is a unique weapon that allows you to throw skulls, dealing damage to enemies similar to the shield in the first Hades. Initially, the blueprint will not be available at the Crossroads, but as you progress through the story, it will appear in the list of recipes.
Aspect of Melinoe:
Aspect of Medea:
Aspect of Persephone:
