Blood in V Rising: How to Change Quality and Blood Type
In the game V Rising, the quality of the blood you consume affects certain vampire stats. Choosing the right fluid will allow you to defeat many enemies and bosses. Today, we will tell you how to increase the level and change the blood type, as well as help create an inexhaustible source.
Why Blood is Needed in V Rising. Its Effects and How to Replenish Blood Supply
Blood is a crucial resource necessary for a vampire's survival. Its main function is automatic health regeneration. At the bottom of the screen, you can track the volume of fluid you have. If the resource runs out, health regeneration will stop, and the hero will start losing life force.
The simplest way to replenish blood is to feed on living creatures. This does not apply to the undead, golems, and aggressive plants.
By killing enemies, you will receive consumables of various rarities: tainted and superior hearts. They are used to replenish the vampire's body with blood. However, this will also affect its quality: after use, the blood type will change to normal, and you will lose all previously available bonuses.
In the later stages, players will be able to build a dungeon to create an inexhaustible source in their castle. We talked more about this mechanic in a separate section.
How to Change Blood Type. The Types of Blood in V Rising
In the game, you will encounter six types of enemies, each with a unique blood group and quality. Some fluids increase your combat stats, while others allow for faster world traversal. Having a high level of blood is necessary for battling the majority of bosses.
Blood Types:
- Common.
- Animal.
- Worker.
- Brigand.
- Warrior.
- Scholar.
To change the blood type, it's enough to deal critical damage to your prey, and when the Feed prompt appears, approach it and press the corresponding key. It's worth noting that at this moment, the vampire will be vulnerable to enemy attacks. Therefore, it's advised to eliminate other opponents before draining fluid from the victim.
You can track the quality and group of blood in two ways:
- Hover the cursor over the enemy. Under the health bar, you will see the type and level of blood.
- Use the active skill Blood Hunger. You can acquire this ability after defeating Leandra, who resides at Danli Farms.

Blood is the most important resource necessary for a vampire's survival. Its main function is automatic health regeneration. At the bottom of the screen, you can track the volume of fluid available. Militia
Militias are not yet warriors but are no longer bandits. They usually patrol the roads near cities. The resource harvested from these fighters is needed at lower levels to enhance the efficiency of health recovery in battles.
Level bonuses:
- Enhances life drain (vampiric) on hit by 7.5%-12.5%.
- Increases attack speed by 7.5%-15%. Raises equipment level by 1.
- Increases healing efficiency by 20%-35%. Each kill restores 4% of maximum health.
- Gives a 6% chance to enhance regeneration efficiency. Increases movement speed by 20% and damage from any attacks by 25%.
- All effects of this blood group are enhanced by 30%.
Warrior
Such enemies can be found at outposts and in cities. Warrior's blood is suitable for fights with bosses or high-level opponents.
Level bonuses:
- Increases physical strength by 10%-20%.
- Speeds up weapon skill cooldowns by 8%-15%.
- Reduces incoming damage by 7.5%-15%. Enhances damage to enemies with maximum health by 25%.
- Increases the chance to parry an attack by 15%. Incoming damage when parrying an attack is reduced by 50%, and damage dealt after a successful parry is increased by 25%.
- All effects of this blood group are enhanced by 30%.
Where to find quality blood. How to create an inexhaustible source
Characters with quality blood appear randomly. To find them, explore outposts, camps, and large cities. This is the only way to acquire such a resource in the early stages of the game.
Later on, once you build a castle and deal with Vincent Frostfingers, you can create prison cells. They are needed to hold prisoners and collect the necessary resource from them. To do this, you will have to meet several conditions:
- Upgrade the Heart of the castle to the second level to gain the Vampire's Kiss ability. How to do this is explained in a separate guide.
- Use the aforementioned skill to recruit enemies with quality blood, then confine them in prison cells.
- Craft or find several empty glass bottles.
- In the cell menu, select the action Drain Blood.
This way, you will create an inexhaustible source, and you won't have to constantly explore the open world in search of high-level resources. But finding five suitable enemies and confining them in cells will not be enough. Each subsequent blood extraction increases the prisoner's misery percentage. The higher it is, the more damage the prisoner will take during extraction.
We recommend harvesting blood from a prisoner no more than twice, after which you should definitely feed them rainbow trout. This fish can be caught in any body of water using a fishing rod. In this way, the prisoner's suffering percentage will decrease, and the next blood extraction will be safe.
