Crafting Guide in V Rising: How to Create, Repair, and Upgrade Weapons and Gear
The most important thing that will help you survive in the world of V Rising is your gear. The game features a multitude of weapon and armor types, each with unique characteristics. Additionally, gear wears out over time. In this guide, we'll explain how to craft weapons and gear, as well as how to upgrade and repair them.
How to Create Weapons and Gear
If you have already started your vampiric adventure, you've probably noticed that all the main infrastructure buildings become available only after defeating certain bosses. However, you'll receive the basics during the tutorial phase.
Pay attention to the Castle Heart. It needs to be regularly fed with blood essence; otherwise, the base will cease to function, and buildings will start to deteriorate.
For any item, you'll need the appropriate building and recipe. You can acquire instructions in several ways:
- By defeating bosses;
- By defeating regular enemies;
- Using research tables (Researcher's Table, Scholar's Table, and so on).
All these options do not guarantee a 100% success rate, so quickly farming high-level recipes won't be possible. Moreover, you'll need to find paper, scrolls, or schematics for research.
Buildings required for crafting weapons and gear:
- Simple Workbench — unlocked during the tutorial and needed for creating basic items;
- Woodworking Bench — unlocked after defeating Rufus the Foreman and allows for the creation of crossbows and other wooden items;
- Alchemy Bench — unlocked after defeating Clive the Firestarter and allows for the creation of potions, salves, and explosives;
- Tailoring Bench — unlocked after defeating Quincey the Bandit King and used for making cloth clothes and armor;
- Smithy — unlocked after defeating Quincey the Bandit King and used for forging iron weapons;
- Anvil — unlocked after defeating Octavian the Militia Captain and used for creating high-quality weapons and armor.
How to Repair Weapons and Armor
As soon as the durability of your equipment drops too low, special symbols will appear over your blood reserve. As the situation worsens, the icon will change color from yellow to red. Open your inventory and hover over the desired item, then press the middle mouse button to spend specific resources and restore durability.
Note that basic gear is often a necessary component in the recipe for more advanced items, so repairing already created items is necessary at least for the sake of economy. However, sometimes it will be cheaper to create new ones, so approach repair wisely.
We also do not recommend throwing away or dismantling unwanted armor and weapons in the «Devourer.» It will definitely come in handy for your servants.
How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor
Weapons and armor can also be upgraded thanks to specific recipes, which are unlocked with paper, scrolls, and schematics at special tables. To create paper, you will need a Paper Press, which is unlocked at the third level of the castle. Until you have upgraded your citadel, you will need to collect paper from defeated enemies.
You will also need other special buildings:
- Research Desk — allows unlocking first level equipment recipes, unlocked during training, requires paper for use;
- Study — allows unlocking second level item recipes, unlocked after defeating Nicholaus the Fallen, requires scrolls for use;
- Athenaeum — allows unlocking third level item recipes, unlocked after defeating Raziel the Shepherd, requires schematics for use.
