How to Find All Artifacts in Black Myth: Wukong
Artifacts (Vessels) in Black Myth: Wukong are unique equipment that offer both passive and active abilities when equipped. They are quite powerful and should be used in boss encounters or when you are in a tough spot during combat. These artifacts are also rare, so you will need to put in some effort to find them.
The passive ability usually provides a general stat boost, while the active ability can be activated to provide a much stronger buff that can turn the tide of battle.
There are 4 artifacts in Black Myth: Wukong. Finding all artifact locations unlocks the achievement «Treasure Trove.»
You can fast travel between chapters at any time. After the story, there is still the possibility to freely explore locations. After the final boss, you return to the title screen, here select «Continue» and you will be transported to the final boss. You can still revisit all locations from this point. Just do not press «Enter a New Cycle» on the main screen, as this will launch New Game+ mode and overwrite your save without the possibility to return.
How to Use Artifacts
When you unlock an artifact, you will be able to use it by pressing RT or R2 and the left stick. Before that, you will need to select the artifact in the menu. To do this, open your inventory, and then check the slot next to the spirits and your equipment. This is your artifact slot. When selected, build up your Qi resource as usual: either by resting or fighting enemies and accumulating it. Then you can activate the artifact.
The artifact from Chapter 2 is great for countering dust storms. This is important because one of the main mechanics of the final fight in Chapter 2 relies on tornadoes to control you. It is incredibly effective against the second and third phases of the Yellow Wind Sage, significantly lowering the difficulty of this dangerous opponent. The artifacts from Chapter 1 also provide fire resistance, which counters many attacks from the final boss of that area.
Fireproof Mantle
Reward for completing the secret area of Chapter 1 «Ancient Guanyin Temple.»
- Active Effect: Grants immunity to burns and gradually increases focus for a short time after activation. Effective in certain environments and against specific enemies;
- Passive Effect: Significantly increases burn resistance and grants immunity to burn damage in areas covered with lava.
- Ring all 3 bells in Chapter 1;
- After ringing the third bell, you will be teleported to the secret area «Ancient Guanyin Temple.» Here you must defeat the boss «Elder Jinchi.» He will be right in front of you;
- After defeating «Elder Jinchi,» you will be teleported back to the third bell. Here, interact with the body hanging in front of the third bell to receive the Fireproof Mantle.
Wind Tamer
Reward for completing the secret area of Chapter 2 «Kingdom of Sahali.»
- Active Effect: After activation, significantly increases damage reduction for a short time and grants immunity to strong winds;
- Passive Effect: Significantly increases damage reduction.
- Complete the Drunken Boar questline to access the secret area of Chapter 2;
- After completing the questline, you will enter the secret area «Kingdom of Sahali.» Here you must defeat the boss «Tiger Vanguard.» He is different from the boss with the same name in the Crouching Tiger Temple. Then talk to the NPC standing on the rock in front of you to start the boss fight with «Fuban.» Defeat him to receive the Wind Tamer.
Weaver's Needle
Reward for completing the secret area of Chapter 4 «Purple Cloud Mountain.»
- Active Effect: Creates a needle that will track the movement of enemies;
- Passive Effect: Increases critical hit chance and critical hit damage.
You must defeat the boss named «Venom Daoist» in two separate locations to enter the secret area. Then defeat the boss in the secret area to obtain the item.
- Defeat Venom Daoist in the Webbed Hollow > Pool of Shattered Jade location. To the right of this shrine, follow the path to find a large spider cocoon hanging from the ceiling. Attack it until Venom Daoist pops out, then defeat him;
- Kill Venom Daoist a second time in the Temple of the Yellow Flower > Court of Illumination. From this shrine, turn 180° and then follow the path straight ahead (opposite the shrine). When the path splits, go left until you see a cutscene with Venom Daoist (must have defeated him in the first location). In this fight, he has two phases, each with a full health bar. After the battle, interact with the wall in front of you to enter the secret area «Purple Cloud Mountain»;
- In Purple Cloud Mountain, defeat the boss «The Duskveil.» He is located at the top of the village on the central path. After defeating him, you will unlock the Weaver's Needle.
Plantain Fan
