As you progress, you will encounter small quests, puzzles, and caches that the developers have skillfully hidden in the locations. In this guide, we will go through all the chapters and thoroughly examine the secrets that you might have missed during your playthrough.

The key secret of the first chapter is finding the location of the Old Guanyin Temple. To find it, you need to defeat three powerful bosses. They will appear after hitting the bells hidden in the location Black Wind Mountain.

After fulfilling the above condition, you will be sent to a secret boss battle in the Old Guanyin Temple. As a reward for winning the battle, you will receive the Fireproof Mantle. The item is placed in a unique equipment slot, and it will significantly ease the final battle with the main opponent of the first chapter.

During the playthrough, you can easily miss the very first transformation spell, as it is not given for a battle with a storyline boss. To get it, you need to fight Guan-zhi. You will find him in the Wolf Forest, which is located near the battle zone with the Bull Guardian. Cross the small bridge and turn into a small arch between the forest hills.

Defeating Guan-zhi, take his weapon to unlock the transformation spell. It allows you to temporarily transform into a wolf-guai and unleash devastating barrages of fire attacks.

After killing the first major boss, Lin Xu-zi, go down the steps. On the left, you will see a niche you can enter. Inside, you will find a friendly Guai Horse, also known as Ma Tianba. He will warn you about the Black Wind King, after which he will say goodbye. You will be given a special quest, for completing which you will receive the reward of transforming into Black Thunder. The conditions of the quest are quite simple: find Guai's locations in the subsequent chapters.

In the second chapter, you can find Guai tied to a wooden structure in the Sand Gate Village. To reach him, you need to go to the boss arena of the Second Prince of Shifting Sands and turn left. Fight the enemies and defeat the Earth Wolf guarding the horse. After, talk to the prisoner. He will ask you to move further again.

In the third chapter, the Guai Horse is located on the western side of the New Thunder Temple. You can find him on top of the building located on the left side of the temple. There you will meet three blind monks. Climb the stairs and go left. Behind the door, Guai will be waiting for you.

In the fourth chapter, you can hear the voice of the Horse. He is locked inside a column. Once you kill the boss Centipede, strike the column to free the prisoner. Talk to Guai to continue the quest.

The final encounter with the horse will occur in the fifth chapter. You will find him in one of the elemental carts. It is located in the area before the battle with the clouds. Move to the right side and fight the winged monkey. After the victory, interact with the cord to enter the secret area. Defeat the Flaming Mountain Keeper and free the Horse's soul. He will perish, and you will not be able to save him. As a reward for completing the quest, you will receive one of the most powerful transformations.

The very first portion of Awakened Wine Worms can be found in the location Bamboo Grove: White Mist Swamps. At the very beginning, you can see a small niche located on the left. Boss Red Lun is the most difficult secret of the first chapter. To unlock the secret fight, you first need to obtain the Lun Scale in the second chapter. In the Sand Gate Village, activate the Sanctuary of the Guardian of the Valley of Despair. Then go down to the boss. You will see a red wall adorned with carved patterns. The scale is in a chest behind this wall. Make the boss hit the wall to break it. After obtaining the item, you need to return to the Forest Sanctuary and turn to the left. Walk straight until you encounter a giant waterfall. Break it with the found scale. Walk forward to face a very exciting boss.

In the first chapter, there is a small easter egg that can be easily missed: during the battle with Guang-mou, use the spell Red Tides (transformation) to turn into a wolf.
