Old Rattle in Black Myth: Wukong. Where to Find and How to Use
The Old Rattle is a unique item in the game Black Myth: Wukong, necessary for unlocking secret bosses. In this guide, we'll cover how to obtain the Old Rattle and what it is used for in Black Myth: Wukong.
How to Obtain the Old Rattle
The Old Rattle is a legendary key item in the game Black Myth: Wukong, which players will receive after defeating the Tiger Disciple in the Yellow Wind Ridge. As with many key items in the game, the functions of the Old Rattle may not be obvious. The item can be found near the Windrest Hamlet shrine. Starting from the Temple, just go straight and follow the path until you reach the bridge where you will see the Boss.
The Tiger Disciple has relatively low health compared to other bosses but deals significant damage. Moreover, you can fall off the bridge and die, so be careful when approaching the edges of the bridge.
How to Use the Old Rattle
The item can only be used in three special locations. You are in the right place if the screen desaturates and you get a prompt to use the rattle. Let's take a closer look at each location.
Windseal Gate, Yellow Wind Formation
Starting from Windseal Gate, Yellow Wind Formation Temple, just go straight and follow the path, then cross the rope bridge. After crossing the bridge, go left where there are logs and enter the zone.
Upon entering this area, your screen will turn gray. Continue exploring the area until you are prompted to use the Old Rattle. After this, corpses in the area will come to life and start attacking. Defeat them before moving on to the next location.
Windrest Hamlet, Yellow Wind Formation
Starting from Windrest Hamlet, Yellow Wind Formation Temple, turn around, follow the path down, and enter the village. Once inside the village, go left until the screen turns gray, and then use the Old Rattle when prompted.
After this, corpses in the area will come to life and start attacking. Defeat all enemies and head to the next location.
Village Entrance, Sandgate Village
Starting from the entrance of Sandgate Village Shrine, cross the bridge, then head to the right side and enter the village. Once inside the village, keep to the left side and follow it until you see an opening into a large area where the boss «Earth Wolf» is located.
Head north where the shrine is located, enter it, and then move to the left side which leads to the required area. Keep going until the screen turns gray, and then use the Old Rattle Drum when prompted.
If you have defeated the Earth Wolf and opened the gate before obtaining the Old Rattle Drum, you can skip entering the village and head directly to the boss area Mad Tiger using the gate.
