How to Find Silk in Black Myth: Wukong — What It Is Used For

Since its release, Black Myth: Wukong has captivated players with its intricate story, challenging combat mechanics, and stunning world. To succeed in this game, you will need to seek out essential resources for survival. Silk is a crucial crafting material, but it is not found everywhere. It's important to know where and how to gather it so you don't run out. This guide will tell you the best ways to collect silk in the game.

How to Obtain Silk

Silk is one of the most important materials in Black Myth: Wukong. Fortunately, there are several ways to obtain this resource. Silk is used to craft rare and epic armor that can significantly boost your stats in the early areas of Black Myth: Wukong. How much silk you will need depends on the type of armor and its rarity.

Defeat Enemies

One of the easiest ways to get silk in Black Myth: Wukong is to defeat certain enemies. Starting from Chapter 2, you will encounter various foes, such as rat enemies, which have a good chance of dropping silk when you defeat them. These enemies appear quite frequently and provide you with a decent supply of the resource, with about a 25% chance of dropping it as loot.

Thus, defeating enemies can be a good source for farming and collecting silk, and you don't even need to stray from the main storyline. Additionally, in later chapters, you will encounter stronger enemies and bosses who also drop silk and other valuable items, such as Yaoguai cores, which you can use to upgrade your weapons.

Loot Chests

If you are not inclined to fight enemies and want to collect silk without combat, look for hidden chests. These hidden chests are scattered across the map. However, they are usually in hard-to-reach places, so you will need to thoroughly explore the map. Keep in mind that not all chests contain silk, but on the other hand, they offer you other decent rewards.

Purchase

If defeating enemies or searching for chests does not yield enough silk, you can also buy it in shops at shrines. However, this is an unreliable method of collecting silk as it is expensive, costing around 600 per piece.

While simply buying silk is relatively easy, it will use up your money, which you might want to save for other important items. However, if you do decide to buy silk, it's best to do so only when you need it for important armor upgrades.

How to Use Silk

After you finish collecting silk, you can use it to craft various armor sets at any shrine. To craft armor, you need to open the «Craft» menu at the shrine. Select the set you want to create and make sure you have enough silk and other necessary materials. Additionally, you can also trade silk for in-game currency.
