R.E.P.O. Beginner's Guide: Survival Tips, Money Making & Healing Teammates

In R.E.P.O., the concept of the game is quite simple, but it has many non-obvious mechanics that newcomers might miss or not understand. In this guide, we have gathered all the tips that will help you survive, earn extra money, navigate locations, and save allies.
All valuable items are fragile
Each item has 1 second of invulnerability when you first pick it up. Therefore, you can safely "pull" the item from any place. The same applies to monster cores. It won't break while it's white. After this delay, items break on players and monsters (causing damage) and surrounding items. However, at the collection point and in the carts, there is soft padding that protects the items (even if you drop them from a great height or on top of each other).
Stack items more compactly
In the future, developers plan to add markings so that players can see what needs to be adjusted at the collection point. But while this is not available, remember that anything that goes beyond the receiving device will be destroyed, and you won't receive money for the items.
Monitor allies' health and resurrect them
If an android dies, you can resurrect it by placing the head in the collection zone or in the trailer when you have completed the norm. From the collection point, it will appear with 1 health point, but in the trailer, it will have an additional 25 health restored. Besides, you may notice a health bar on the back of androids' heads. If you grab it, you will start transferring 10 health points. This is useful, especially considering that there is a lot of fast minor damage in the game (gnome strike, ally hit with an item, and the like).
Control the cart's location
Many monsters start attacking the cart if they encounter it, breaking all its contents. Gnomes ignore androids if there are valuable items nearby, so leaving the cart unattended is not the best decision. Also, try to leave it at the edge rather than in the passageway.
Recon first, then collect
Make it a rule to explore the entire area first, and then start your route with the cart. All found items, including those in the cart, will be displayed on the map, simplifying further collection and saving time. The further you progress, the more monsters will be on the way and collection points. Without an open map, you will waste a lot of time and break some valuable items.
Use the map
Small found items will be displayed as a yellow dot. The larger and more expensive the item, the bigger the dot. The cart can be found by a blue mark. If an ally dies, their head will be displayed in red. And a dotted line leads to the current collection point. You can open the map at any time by pressing Tab. This does not stop you or drop the item.
Experiment, but don't make unnecessary noise
Some monsters react to sounds, microphones, and android voices. We do not recommend running headlong if you do not yet know which monster has appeared in the location. Later, when you understand the mechanics, you can use unnecessary noise to distract or, conversely, lure enemies into a trap.
Run before the lights go out
After completing the final norm, the lights in the complex will turn off, and monsters will start appearing in greater numbers and without delay. The longer you stay on the level, the less chance you have to survive, so leave at least one player in the vehicle. Additionally, you can immediately run to the exit when you have loaded the last items. At the last collection point, there is an additional rule — if you load items after the sound report, they will not be credited to you.
Buy upgrades first
After each level, you enter the shop, where you can buy weapons, healing, and upgrades for the android. It is a priority for everyone to take one copy of stamina, strength, and grab range. After that, adapt purchases to your play style.
Purchased items do not disappear
If you do not spend them but lose them on the level, they will return to the vehicle on the next outing. Therefore, there is no point in risking and searching for an expensive item; it is enough just to survive.
Buy a mini-cart
It will be useful not only for loading small items but also for saving you from a number of monsters. For example, if you fly into a room and there is an eye, just take the cart in your hands and break the line of sight. Or you can place it under your feet when an alien grabs you, so you don't take fall damage (50 units).
