No Rest for the Wicked is out on Steam Early Access. The visuals are stunning, but the game is not optimized
No Rest for the Wicked, an isometric souls-like action game from the creators of the Ori duology, has been released on Steam Early Access.
Accorrding to SteamDB, No Rest for the Wicked launched with an online audience of 33,000 players; however, initial reviews are mixed. Players appreciate the impressive visual style and hardcore combat system, but many complain about poor optimization.
Technical issues have already been addressed by John Linneman from Digital Foundry. The specialist tested the game on several systems (PC with 9900K/RTX 2060 Super, PC with 12900K/RTX 4090, laptop with 12800H/RTX 3080 Ti). In most cases, the frame rate was 60 FPS or higher, but there are locations in the game where frame drops occur regardless of the hardware.
Until May 2nd, No Rest for the Wicked is available at a discount.
