The game's average score on OpenCritic is 64/100. The game was criticized for its outdated graphics, technical issues, dull combat system, lack of frightening moments, repetitive enemies, and poor optimization. On Steam, the project received 78% positive reviews.

Alone in the Dark is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
