Famous Doge Dog, Who Gave Us an Internet Meme and Cryptocurrency, Has Passed Away

The Shiba Inu named Kabosu, best known as Doge, passed away early in the morning on May 24. The news of the famous dog's death was announced by her owner, Atsuko Sato.
Kabosu lived for 18 years and was considered a long-lived dog among Shiba Inus. In her last days, she had difficulty standing on her paws.
A farewell event will be held on May 26 in Narita, Japan.
Kabosu was adopted from a shelter in 2008. In 2013, the dog became famous thanks to an internet meme, and shortly after, the cryptocurrency Dogecoin appeared online. In 2020, the Doge meme regained popularity thanks to another dog named Cheems.
