June 3, 2024, 08:25 PM
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has provided new information regarding Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto franchise:
- Since its release, GTA 5 has generated approximately $10 billion in revenue;
- Rockstar aims to make GTA 6 the pinnacle of the series, surpassing all expectations;
- Rockstar is the leading «pure-play interactive entertainment company» worldwide;
- The GTA series remains unmatched in the industry, even surpassing the popularity of Call of Duty;
- Rockstar has a consistent pattern for releasing its games across different platforms;
- While developing Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar has also released Red Dead Redemption 2 and a substantial amount of content for Grand Theft Auto Online;
- Rockstar hopes to reduce the time between future GTA releases to avoid lengthy gaps.
As a reminder, Rockstar announced in mid-May that GTA 6 is scheduled for release in fall 2025. It will initially launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a PC version expected at a later date.
