Fans have released a text editor that punishes mistakes like Dark Souls
The fashion for soulslicks has also reached simple text editors. Two indie developers have created FromSoft Word, a typing program where you can die from a simple mistake and start all over again.
FromSoft Word is a browser-based editor with a fairly limited set of functions, in which you can simply type text. Its main feature is background music straight from Dark Souls and a radical approach to errors. You can work in it until the user makes a typo. In this case, the inscription «You made a typo» pops up on the screen with a familiar sound, after which the text has to start over. By the way, there is a function for exporting a document from the editor to Notepad.
The project was developed by two enthusiasts from the indie studio Woe Industries — Steven Nass and Peter Henningsen. You can play FromSoft Word on the itch.io platform using this link. The program only works in English.
By the way, today a new Elden Ring trailer was released, timed to coincide with the imminent release of the Shadow of the Erdtree add-on.
