Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree received 94 on Metacritic and OpenCritic
The first reviews of the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion have appeared online. They are overwhelmingly positive: on Metacritic, the average score is 94, and on OpenCritic, it is also 94 with a recommendation from 97% of reviewers.
Shadow of the Erdtree has indeed become the most extensive expansion in FromSoftware's history. The DLC significantly expands the original game's experience and adds a lot of new weapons, with around 30 hours needed to complete it.
Among the downsides of the expansion are some performance issues and a «disappointing final boss.» Eurogamer's reviewer, who gave the DLC only 60, noted a more straightforward narrative delivery and numerous scattered hints from the developers.
