In an anniversary post about Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 quest director Paweł Sasko said the expansion reached more than 15 million copies sold, but he would not want the studio's story to be told as if the game's launch problems never happened.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched with problems that remain part of its history, Sasko said. "I do not think Phantom Liberty erases the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, and I would never want to tell our story that way."
