New Mod Brings Real-Time Combat to Baldur's Gate 3, Inspired by Original Games
It's amusing to recall now, but there was a time when fans criticized the developers of Baldur's Gate 3 for abandoning traditional real-time combat. A year after the release, an enthusiast with the nickname tinybike has released a modification that brings back those very battles from the original games.
There is already a small video on YouTube demonstrating the new mode. The mod is in a very early stage of development and currently does not include important features like active pause. Unfortunately, without it, the revamped Baldur's Gate 3 is unplayable — the battles are so fast that you literally have to catch enemies with the cursor.
In the future, the modder plans to add other important mechanics such as AI for companions. Many fans are already eagerly awaiting upcoming updates.
«I always imagined what this game would play like if it had combat like Dragon Age: Origins,» — @ChandlerBing96.
«While i prefer turn based, i know many love the old realtime with pause. Nice job! Best of luck with it!» — @DapperDodo.
«This is very impressive,» — @NoExplosionsMcgee.
The mod can be downloaded on GitHub. Previously, the official seventh patch with updated evil endings was released for the game.
