Lenovo's external SSD stuns with grenade-inspired design

Lenovo has once again captured the market’s attention by unveiling an external SSD with an eye-catching, grenade-inspired design. This unique device not only offers reliable data storage but also stands out for its tactical aesthetic. However, such a bold design may come with certain risks, particularly in high-security areas like airports.

The SSD features a durable aluminum alloy body, with its design paying homage to the tactical style often seen in military-themed products. While the look is undeniably striking, it could lead to delays during security checks or cause unnecessary concern in crowded public spaces.

The device supports data transfer speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s via a USB-C connection and uses the USB 3.2 protocol, ensuring compatibility with most modern systems. The SSD is expected to be available in a 1TB configuration, making it both stylish and functional. The grenade-shaped SSD is currently part of a crowdfunding campaign. Priced at 599 yuan (approximately $82), it has already reached 69% of its funding goal, with a few weeks remaining until the campaign concludes.
