Ubisoft Confirms Assassin's Creed: Shadows Initially Had Only One Hero
Assassin's Creed: Shadows will feature two main protagonists: the female shinobi Naoe and the samurai Yasuke. However, this wasn't always the case. According to creative director Jonathan Dumont, the developers originally planned for just one character.
In the initial version, the shinobi protagonist could don heavy armor to become stronger in combat and develop samurai abilities. However, the developers later felt that the samurai archetype seemed incomplete and overshadowed by the primary character. Consequently, they decided to differentiate the styles and introduced the concept of two heroes.
Recently, plenty of fresh gameplay footage from Assassin's Creed: Shadows has surfaced online. The videos showcase revamped parkour mechanics, enemy base clearings, and a new settlement development system.
The game is set to release on March 20.
