Rumor: Next Call of Duty Could Release on Last-Gen Consoles

It looks like Activision isn’t ready to abandon last-gen consoles just yet. According to X account CharlieIntel, the next Call of Duty will launch not only on modern platforms but also on PS4 and Xbox One.

The insider claims to have heard this from multiple sources. The continued support for older hardware likely stems from their massive player base—according to Sony’s financial report from last year, half of PlayStation’s audience is still on PS4.

Previously, insider Tom Henderson reported that the next Call of Duty will be a sequel to Black Ops 2. The game is said to take place in 2030 and will feature an improved movement system as one of its key innovations.
