ASUS unveils hybrid monitors with built-in air ionization

ASUS has announced the VU Air Ionizer lineup, merging digital technology with user health care. The new models, available in three sizes, not only deliver crisp visuals but also combat air pollution within the workspace.

The standout feature of the series is the built-in ionization module, which, according to the manufacturer, reduces dust and allergen levels by 90% within one cubic meter after three hours of operation. The technology requires no filter replacements, simplifying maintenance. ASUS positions the new models as an ideal solution for offices and homes in urban areas with poor air quality.

The lineup includes three models:

  • VU249HFI-W (23.8") and VU279HFI-W (27") — IPS panels with Full HD resolution (1920×1080), a 100 Hz refresh rate, and 250 nits of brightness. Ideal for everyday tasks and fast-moving content.
  • VU34WCIP-W (34") — A curved VA display with a 3440×1440 resolution (21:9), 300 nits of brightness, and a 3000:1 contrast ratio. With Adaptive Sync technology (48–100 Hz) and a 1 ms response time (MPRT), it’s designed for gamers and professionals who value deep blacks.

All monitors support 16.7 million colors and adaptive sync, minimizing screen tearing. The VU Air Ionizer series offers a smart balance for those seeking multifunctional devices. Gamers will appreciate the smooth 100 Hz visuals, while those spending long hours at their desks may notice improved air quality.

ASUS maintains competitive pricing, with the 23.8" model priced at $129.99, the 27" model at $159.99, and the larger 34" version at $359.99. Buyers also receive a free one-month subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, making the offer particularly appealing to designers and video creators. Official sales have already begun, and in the coming weeks, it will become clear how well ASUS’s “dual-function” concept resonates in the growing hybrid tech market.
